Objectives

• Improve User Experience: Streamline the KYC process to make it more user-friendly and less time-consuming for users.

• Increase Efficiency: Automate parts of the KYC process to reduce manual verification time and operational costs.

• Ensure Compliance: Update the KYC procedures to meet the latest regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Background

With the growing cryptocurrency market, exchanges face more users and stricter regulations. The current KYC process is outdated, complicated, and error-prone, leading to user frustration and compliance risks. This redesign aims to solve these issues and keep the exchange competitive.

Key Features and Improvements

Based on a comprehensive competitive analysis, the following key improvements have been identified and implemented:

• Registration/Unverified User Guidance: Introduced a guided flow for registration and unverified users to improve registration success rates.

• New User Incentives: Added special offers for new users to encourage registration completion.

• Password Strength Indicator and Simplification: Enhanced password strength requirements and removed the need for a 'Confirm Password' field.

• Concise Registration Warnings: Merged and shortened registration warnings to reduce UI layout length and visual clutter.

• Email Code Verification: Modified the verification process to use email codes, enhancing usability.

• Passkeys Login: Introduced Passkeys login for more convenient user access.

• Simplified Photo Instructions: Combined photo instructions and actions with a photo frame overlay to reduce the number of clicks required.

• OCR Recognition: Implemented OCR technology to auto-fill data, reducing user input errors and time.

• Separate Bank Verification: Set up a separate process for bank verification to attract API traders from abroad without Taiwanese bank accounts.

• Guided Selfie with ID: Added detailed guidance for taking selfies with ID, increasing registration success rates.​
